Intuit QuickBooks Payroll will not process direct deposits on Monday, Oct. 12, 2009; Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009; and Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009, because of the Federal Reserve Bank's observance of the Columbus Day, Veterans Day, and Thanksgiving Day holidays. To comply with the Fair Labor Standards Act, you might need to send your direct deposit payroll earlier than usual.

E-File & Pay States

Intuit QuickBooks Enhanced Payroll customers can E-File & Pay their payroll liabilities to federal and some state tax agencies. Find out whether your state agencies are supported.


Important Payroll Dates

I Do My Own Tax Filings

Nov. 2, 2009: Deadline to file Form 941 for third quarter 2009 if you did not deposit all taxes when due.

Nov. 2, 2009: Deadline to deposit FUTA tax owed through September if more than $500.

Nov. 10, 2009: Deadline to file Form 941 for third quarter 2009 if you timely deposited all required payments.

I Get Assistance with My Taxes

Nov. 1 — Dec. 7, 2009: Date that W-2s will be available to preview through the Payroll Tax Center. This is a good opportunity to review your W-2 information for accuracy.

Nov. 5, 2009: Date that copies of your third quarter 2009 payroll tax returns will be available in the Payroll Tax Center.

I’m an Accountant

Dec. 15, 2009: Deadline for corporations to pay the fourth installment of estimated tax payments for 2009.

Holidays

Monday, Oct. 12, 2009: Federal Reserve bank holiday—Columbus Day.

Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009: Federal Reserve bank holiday—Veterans Day.

Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009: Federal Reserve bank holiday—Thanksgiving Day.
