Important Payroll Dates

I Do My Own Tax Filings

July 31, 2009: Deadline to file Form 941 for second quarter 2009 if you did not deposit all taxes when due.

July 31, 2009: Deadline to deposit FUTA tax owed through June if more than $500.

Aug. 10, 2009: Deadline to file Form 941 for second quarter 2009 if you timely deposited all required payments.

I Get Assistance with My Taxes

Aug. 5, 2009: Date that copies of your second quarter 2009 payroll tax returns will be available in the Payroll Tax Center.

Sept. 28, 2009: Deadline to submit your third quarter 2009 information without incurring backdate fees.

I’m an Accountant

Sept. 15, 2009: Deadline to file individual and corporate estimated tax payments for the third quarter of 2009.

All Services

July 31, 2009: Deadline to file Form 5500 or 5500EZ for 2008 if you maintain an employee benefit plan.

Holidays

Sept. 7, 2009: Federal Reserve bank holiday—Labor Day.
