Send W-2s from QuickBooks to TurboTax and Make Tax Time Easier and Less Expensive for Your Employees
By now you've distributed paper copies of W-2s to your employees, but many of them may still be working on their tax returns. It's not too late to send W-2s to Intuit TurboTax for your employees. A new feature in Intuit QuickBooks 2008 and 2009 for Standard and Enhanced Payroll subscribers can help you make tax time easier, more accurate, and less expensive for your employees. To use the feature, you will need to install the QuickBooks update and the QuickBooks Payroll update that were released Dec. 18, 2008.
After you prepare and print your employees' W-2 forms in QuickBooks, you now have the option to send the W-2s to Intuit TurboTax at no cost. Plus, employees who choose to use this option will receive a 20% discount on TurboTax.
To send your employees' W-2 information to Intuit TurboTax, open the W-2 form and click the Submit Form button. This will take you to the Print/E-File Form panel. A new button has been added to the bottom of the panel in the section New: Send employees' W-2s to Intuit's TurboTax. Just click the Send button.
If you provide your e-mail address at the time you send W-2s to Intuit TurboTax, you will receive an e-mail confirmation that the W-2s have been submitted successfully as well as information about the 20% discount offer that you can e-mail or print and distribute to your employees.
