For QuickBooks Direct Deposit Customers

How will Christmas Day (Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007), New Year's Day (Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008), Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (Monday, Jan. 21, 2008) and Presidents' Day (Monday, Feb. 18, 2008) affect my direct deposit?

QuickBooks Payroll will not process direct deposits on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007; Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008; Monday, Jan. 21, 2008; and Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, because of the Federal Reserve Bank's observance of the Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and Presidents' Day holidays.

Christmas Day

If your normal paycheck date is on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007, to comply with the Fair Labor Standards Act, you should:

  1. Change your paycheck date to Monday, Dec. 24, 2007
  2. Send your payroll by 5 P.M. Pacific time on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007

For other check dates, you might need to send your direct deposit payroll a day earlier than usual, as described below:

  2. Send your payroll by 5 P.M. Pacific time on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007

For other check dates, you might need to send your direct deposit payroll a day earlier than usual, as described below:

1 Changing the check date applies ONLY to Direct Deposit checks so that employees receive their pay on or before their regular check date, in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. If you do not wish to have your normal check date change to the previous tax year, you should date paychecks for Jan. 1, 2008, disable Direct Deposit for this payroll, and issue paper checks to employees for this payroll.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

If your normal paycheck date is on Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, to comply with the Fair Labor Standards Act, you should:
