Robust New Help Functions Added to QuickBooks 2008
QuickBooks 2008 includes a bevy of new functions and features that may make your payroll processing in QuickBooks easier. Two of the improvements in the 2008 QuickBooks products, the more robust Help functionality and the new QuickBooks Coach,* may be particularly useful for your payroll tasks.
Improved Help Functions
QuickBooks Pro, Premier, and Enterprise Solutions 2008 include robust new Help functionality that allows you to find the information you need quickly and easily. The Help window now sits side-by-side with QuickBooks, so you can move back and forth quickly. QuickBooks Help also includes a Relevant Topics list that gives you a most-likely set of questions to choose from, based on the task you are currently working on in the software.
Also, the search engine used in QuickBooks Help now provides suggested spellings and best-guess results, so you can get to the answers quickly, even if you have minor spelling mistakes in your search queries. The improved Help functions are available in QuickBooks Pro, Premier, and Enterprise Solutions 2008. The new Search and Spell Check functions are available in QuickBooks Simple Start 2008.
QuickBooks Coach
The QuickBooks Coach is an entirely new feature for 2008 that will be available in QuickBooks Pro, Premier, and Enterprise Solutions products. If you are new to QuickBooks, the Coach will guide you through your first steps, so you can become a confident user.
The QuickBooks Coach provides a link to tutorials that will give you a broad understanding of QuickBooks features and functions. You can also learn from the Coach how to get your existing business data (e.g., Microsoft Excel or Outlook) into QuickBooks.
By using the Coach Me button, you can mouse over workflow starting points to see information about how to use the workflows, including the payroll workflows. If you click on a specific workflow starting point, you'll get guidance on how QuickBooks works and how you can map your QuickBooks tasks to your own business workflows.
