Error:
- Problem:
Update File to New Version displays, "Your data file needs to be updated to work with this version of QuickBooks… Once your data file is updated to this new version, it will not work with your previous version of QuickBooks..."
Possible Solution: You are restoring a *.qbb from a previous QuickBooks version. If you type YES and update the *.qbw data file, you can use the *.qbw file with the new QuickBooks version, but not with the old QuickBooks version. For instance, if you have QuickBooks 2003, the other person must update to QuickBooks 2003.
- Problem:
Warning displays, "This data is from a newer version of QuickBooks. It cannot be used." After you choose OK, a Warning displays, "Your data has NOT been restored."
Possible Solution: Someone has used a newer version of QuickBooks to back up your company .qbw to a .qbb. If you both of you need to use the company file, you will need to update your version of QuickBooks. Both of you must have the save version. For instance, if the other person has QuickBooks 2003, you must update to QuickBooks 2003.
- Problem:
Restore From displays "...File not found. Please verify the correct filename was given.
Possible Solution: The *.qbb in the 'File name' field is not the same as the *.qbb in the current folder. Select the correct *.qbb in the folder list and choose Open.
